The Client

The Together Housing Group is currently enjoying a period of growth – to support our service delivery plans we are looking for a number of painters & decorators to join our experienced planned maintenance and upgrades team. The role will be based out of Halifax, Yorkshire. The successful applicant will be to provide an efficient and comprehensive customer focused building repair & maintenance service.

Role Overview

This team is focused on ensuring that homes are upgraded (kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms, roofs and more) to be re-let for new customers, and assist in future proofing these properties to a very high standard.

This team will be focused on ensuring that all properties and their communal shared areas are updated with a fresh paint scheme, as well as any decoration and decor that is required.  

You will be carrying out all types of painting & decorating tasks to both tenanted as well as vacant properties, in accordance with pre-approved job tickets as well as arranged appointment slots.

All work we carry out is done with an ethos of “Right First Time” completing work where practicable in the first visit, with a good standard of performance and quality workmanship.

All works we carry out are done with a very high regard to customer care and satisfaction including ensuring that work is carried out to protect tenant’s furniture and belongings as appropriate.

Applicants should have the ability to multi-skill in other areas as well.

Your key duties as a painter / decorator will be;

  • To carry out all types of painting & decorating repairs to both tenanted & vacant properties as well pre-planned upgrade works.
  • To carry out all your repairs with an ethos of “Right First Time”
  • To keep all records as required, either on paper or using your PDA
  • To make measurements, quantification and procure materials as required
  • To be able to do general wall tiling to a good standard as part of the multi-skilling

In order to undertake work as a painter / decorator, based out of Halifax, Calderdale you will require;

  • Experience of working competently in all disciplines normally expected of a qualified painter / decorator
  • Experience of working in a customer service environment
  • Experience of maximising the number of jobs completed and repairs in a single visit
  • City & Guilds Craft Certificate in Painting & Decorating (NVQ2) or equivalent

Due to the nature of the role, a full driving license is required and a driving assessment will take place due to the role requiring use of a company provided van.
