A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Freight Operations Manager to join a dynamic logistics and transport business that provides time-critical logistics solutions on behalf of major global manufacturers and their suppliers. Their success in utilising a global network of strategically located partner companies to plan and co-load shipments to provide the most rapid, cost-effective, reliable solutions has made the company the expedited logistics provider of choice.
We are looking for an ambitious, dynamic man-manager, who is experienced within the logistics and transport sector (transport planning/freight forwarding/expediting).
It is essential that you have a track record of operational management experience, where you have taken full responsibility for the site. This will include H&S, quality, significant client liaison and full support to the customer service and sales teams with operational matters to include transport, cost-control and commercials. Will you have P&L responsibility, therefore require be commercially aware.
There will be liaison with the supplier management team to assist with their carrier compliance and the introduction of new and relevant carriers. You will be analytical, highly process driven and have successfully implemented procedures where you felt they were lacking in order to ensure total efficiency.
You will be a motivational, enthusiastic and inspirational leader and wanting an opportunity to put your stamp on shaping the continued growth of the department through the introduction of fresh ideas and a focus on continuous improvement. Of course you will provide direction with clear goal setting and hold regular reviews to identify areas for training and development as well as nurturing future talent.
Salary for this opportunity is GBP45k-GBP50k, plus bonus, BUPA health care and 33 days holidays.
