Policy Officer (Public Affairs, Administrator) BLUP80906

Bracknell

Up to £28,500 per annum plus excellent benefits

Our client’s Policy team are responsible for making sure that they are well positioned within the policy community, including the UK government and devolved administrations, so that they can influence and drive forward this valuable activity.  Work in recent years has focused on areas such as modern slavery, mental health and quality in the construction industry – and that’s just a snapshot, with plenty more fascinating topics on the cards.

They’re looking for a Policy Officer who wants to join a great team, in a role where they can make a real contribution.  If you think you could be right for this role, here are some of the key things you’ll get involved with;

  • Supporting the development and delivery of our client’s political engagement strategy
  • Providing regular advice and support on policy matters to colleagues across the organisation;
  • Conducting research and drafting responses to Parliament and Government consultations;
  • Monitoring policy developments and identifying opportunities for future activity; and
  • Representing the CIOB publicly, engaging and building relationships with key policy makers, legislators and other stakeholders.

What they’re looking for…

To be successful in this role you’ll bring demonstrable experience in a policy or public affairs role, where you’ve consistently demonstrated thought leadership, writing, research, presentation and communication skills.  You’ll be enthusiastic and flexible, like a challenge and be ready to use your own judgement and initiative on a daily basis.  Most importantly – you’ll love working in the policy arena, and if you have experience of the construction industry and built environment, or of working in a professional body, all the better!

What you might be asking is - why work for our client?

In a nutshell, because they can offer you a really friendly, flexible and welcoming working environment, and they’ll show you that they’re committed to your personal wellbeing and to your development within your role.  They’ll offer you a fantastic range of benefits – from access to a great pension scheme through to a variety of health and wellbeing schemes; and they’ll make sure that you’re constantly learning throughout your time with them.  They even hold a Silver Investors in People Award – which they really hope will show you their commitment to this.

No two days will be the same in this exciting position, so if you thrive in an ever changing environment and love to get your teeth into a real challenge then this could be the role for you!
