Analyst - Forward Contract Negotiator - to GBP35,000

Working in an analytical capacity within the energy sector, you will operate as a Forward Contract Negotiator.

This role plays a key part in ensuring the business maintains a competitive offering to their customer base, while obtaining the best energy prices and mitigating risk. This position combines the need for strong analytical, numeric, communication and commercial skills, while being able to function in a fast-paced environment.

The key duties of the Forward Contract Negotiator include: -

Develop and maintain forward pricing models.
Monitor wholesale market prices
Maintenance of trade related data in relevant systems.
Develop, maintain and improve models for forecasting, cost and risk exposure analysis
Obtain best possible commodity prices while mitigating risk
Work with wider business to ensure good stakeholder engagement and customer service
Provide support to product and system development.

This is a niche but essential team within the business, liaising with numerous stakeholders to ensure a successful contribution to business operations.

Previous experience and knowledge of the energy sector, retail pricing policies, contract negotiation and systems would be highly advantageous. A proven ability to undertake analysis of complex numerical problems is also a key element of the role.

You will possess the ability to succeed in a complex environment and you will be proficient with all areas of MS Office including being a strong Excel user. VBA experience is also desirable.
