Location: Cheadle Hulme, SK8 6RQ (near Manchester airport)
Type: Permanent (part time hours)
Holidays:Year 1 is 33 days, rising to 38 after 5 years pro rata
Role Summary – Residential Support Workers, part time hours
Here at Seashell Trust we provide care and education for children and young people (up to 25 years old) with severe, profound and complex learning difficulties and disabilities, sensory impairment and communication disorders and autism.
We are recruiting talented Residential Support Workers to work flexible part-time hours in our residential homes within our Children’s Service.
- These are permanent positions with part-time hours, and will involve working afternoons/evenings and weekends
- These roles will work in our fantastic group of 4 bedroom homes on our single site at Cheadle Hulme near Manchester Airport
- These are very active and physically demanding support/care roles as our children enjoy a wide range of activities
- The roles will involve providing daily care and support for our children including personal care needs, mobility, daily routine support, communication, independent living skills, learning and leisure activities
- Some challenging behaviours may present, so candidates should be comfortable working in this type of environment.

Requirements
- Experience working in a care setting with children or young people with complex learning disabilities and health requirements is preferred but may not be essential.
- QCF Level 3 Residential Childcare or Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care (or similar) is preferred but not essential – successful applicants who are not qualified will be required to commit to completing the qualification supported by Seashell Trust
About the hours
We have the following shifts available:
- Late shifts between 3pm – 10.00pm
- Flexibility to work every other weekend is required
- Early shifts between 7.30am – 3.30pm available at weekends only
- 3 shifts per week required (21 hours)
- These are permanent positions with part-time hours, however full time positions are also available
