About the role

Our client is looking for a motivated and energetic individual with an interest in learning about development and consultancy. As a vital member of our clients Consulting UK team you will work closely with the Team Co-ordinator to support the team of consultants and managers to win and deliver international development consultancy projects. Specifically, you will:

  • Support the team in the identification and preparation of consultancy bids, calls, proposals within the thematic areas of Energy Access, Disaster Risk Reduction, Water and Sanitation (Urban WASH) and Sustainable and Inclusive Agriculture. 
  • Support in building a strong network of associate consultants (international and local consultants, researchers, academics, technical specialists) in our thematic areas.
  • Ad-hoc assistance with administrative functions for example: updating various databases and project award systems, assisting with procurement compliance activities, including reference checking of partners and sub-contractors supplied by the company as required.
  • Assist with communication activities, promoting our work through our social media platforms, website and other channels

Our client is ambitious to grow their portfolios of work in agriculture, WASH, DRR and energy access in order to meet the strategic aims ‘change ambitions’ in these areas.

 

To deliver this they need to provide adequate administrative, business development, communication and engagement support to our team of consultants.

You will work alongside the Team Co-ordinator in response to team requests for support in a number of areas.

About you

You are a recent graduate or experienced administrator with a strong interest in international development and/or consulting. You are looking for an entry-point to the sector and an opportunity to learn and develop some new skills in a stimulating environment. You are willing to try your hand at new tasks and are flexible in terms of being willing to work on a variety of tasks according to need. You take a pride in the quality of outputs and have good attention for detail. You will have strong written and verbal communication skills. You will possess strong time management, planning and prioritisation skills and be able to work under pressure. You will be proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
