About the role

Our client is looking for an experienced Energy Consultant or Technical Energy Specialist to be a central member of their Consulting Team. You will work closely with the Head of Core Energy Consulting to lead, co-ordinate, and deliver a wide-ranging portfolio of energy projects in line with the company’s strategic energy objectives (‘change ambitions’). You will work closely with the Energy sub-teams, portfolio teams and wider colleagues, helping to drive, lead and co-ordinate business development and delivery in close partnership with others.

Our client is ambitious to foster growing energy access provision and to influence energy access planning and policy development for the benefit of poor, vulnerable and marginalised populations.

To deliver this they need experienced consultants who are passionate about winning, managing and delivering high quality and high impact work in the energy and development sectors.

As well as working closely with consultancy colleagues, you will also engage closely with other charity, energy colleagues to provide and co-ordinate energy-related Technical Assistance to their charity programmes and fundraising efforts.

About you

You are an experienced Energy Access and Development Consultant or Expert who is consistently able to win and deliver high quality and high impact projects in collaboration with others. You are a dynamic individual, who is able to work flexibly according to shifting opportunities and directions. You readily take initiative and ownership of projects and tasks and work in the most effective manner given any resource and time constraints. You are able to coach and support others to develop skills and acquire experience in a team situation.

You have a sound knowledge of the international energy sector and related areas and have significant experience of working in this field, either in terms of technical advisory, programme management or consultancy roles, or a combination of these. You will have experience of financial and budget management and of fundraising and business development.

Whilst you may specialise in one or more areas, you are open to developing and working in new areas of energy access/expertise.
