We're proud to have one of the largest full service construction and engineering teams in the sector, our commercially astute lawyers are always aware of the wider challenges and have an enviable track record for delivering practical solutions to complex issues. The team have strong cross working relationships with other teams in environmental law, corporate, banking, real estate, procurement, planning and tax which are key to the seamless service they provide to our clients from planning to completion of their project.

Due to continued growth in client instructions, Partner and Team Leader, Simon Lewis, is looking to develop our transactional construction offering in Bristol by recruiting a further Solicitor into the national team.

What will you be doing?

In this varied and diverse role you'll be providing specialist transactional construction advice to construction clients in the real estate, energy, chemicals, engineering and infrastructure sectors, including advising public sector bodies and others on major capital projects from inception to completion and beyond. Your client base will include many household name national building, infrastructure, engineering and energy companies and local authorities, Govt Departments and Universities.

The day to day work you'll get involved in will reflect the diversity of clients and projects though could include drafting, negotiating, reviewing and finalising the construction documentation in relation to commercial development work using market standard forms of documentation and standard form contracts such as the JCT and NEC suites of contracts.

What does the ideal candidate look like?

You'll be keen to build on your transactional experience of the last two years or possibly more, gained at either a large regional or city firm. You'll be proud of your track record in giving quality construction advice and passionate about continuing to develop a specialism in transactional construction work. As important however will be your ability to work alongside a range of colleagues across locations, as most of the projects will involve multi-disciplinary teams. Your client centric approach and proactive attitude will enable you to project manage transactions with minimal supervision and your commercial pragmatism will give you the ability to build lasting relationships with our clients.

So what makes it so great to work here?

This is a fantastic opportunity to develop a career in a growing specialism with access to great quality work and great clients where you can learn from true leaders in the field. With genuine scope for increased responsibility supported by a firm wide commitment to lawyer development there are fewer better places to continue your legal career.

And that's not all, alongside a competitive salary you'll receive a flexible benefits package so you can pick and choose between the benefits that matter most to you.
