Teacher of Music

Teacher of Music (MPS) - Part Time – 0.8fte

From September 2019

To inspire each of our young people to flourish as an individual, to be curious, to be resilient and to love learning. We aspire for them to grow into articulate, independent future citizens and to become the leaders of tomorrow. We are seeking an imaginative, committed and capable teacher to join the music department. We are proud of our record of recruitment to musical academic courses in the school and are looking for a colleague to work closely with the Head of Music to develop wider music provision in the school and build on the success of recent shows, concerts and foreign music tours.

This is a new role within the department with the flexibility to accommodate the skills and interests of the appointee, although it is anticipated that it will combine the teaching of a limited number of curriculum lessons with the delivery of a significant number of extra-curricular clubs, concerts, theory classes, a summer school and other musical activities. It is therefore important that applicants are able to demonstrate experience and success in these areas and how they would intend to further widen musical engagement within the school.

Keyboard skills and/or experience developing singing in school would be an advantage and there may also be the opportunity to deliver some peripatetic instrumental lessons either as part of or in addition to the role depending upon the skills of the appointee.

Information about the school is available on our website together with further details about the post and an application pack. All completed applications should be returned by 12 noon on Friday 10th May 2019.

Interviews will be held on Tuesday 21st May 2019.
