Faculty / Directorate

The Estates Directorate is large and diverse, employing circa 300 people, ranging from plumbers, engineers, carpenters, cleaners, porters, leisure centre assistants, to property management professionals, architects, project officers, CAD, space management, sustainability and energy and administrative personnel.

Role

The salary for this role is £15,842 - £16,640 per annum, plus a ‘top up’ to the Living Wage making the salary £16,899 pro rata, per annum.

Based at the Leicester campus you will work 25 hours a week between the hours of 07.00am and 16.30 Monday - Friday on a shift pattern to meet the needs of the business. To be part of a team responsible for providing an efficient recycling service to the university working in all buildings on campus. This role includes: Collecting recycling / waste material by hand or vehicle from around the University buildings to a dedicated central location. Bailing and compacting of recycling material. Delivery of recycling / confidential bags around the University, along with breaking up damaged furniture and placing in correct waste stream. A flexible approach and attitude in providing a high standard of customer service is essential which enhances the day to day working and learning experience of Staff, Students. Experience in a similar environment and good understanding and awareness of Health and Safety requirements, especially manual handling and lifting methods, are required along with a flexible approach h to providing this service.
