Our client develops a range of new homes – for rent, shared ownership, and sale – and provides housing management, care and support, and commercial property services.

They have an exciting opportunity for an Income Assistant to provide administrative and front line support to the customer accounts across the group and to further enable the team to deliver excellent customer service both internally and externally. This will be on a fixed term contract basis for up to 12 months to cover maternity leave.

In this key role you will undertake administrative tasks supporting the customer accounts team and review all low level arrears across the group.  You will also have responsibility for current customer recharges and sundry debts.

You will coordinate, and be the initial point of contact for the DWP and other partner agencies in managing universal credit.  You will also contact customers following failed direct debits or broken agreements. Other duties will include calculating and processing payment arrangements including direct debits, housing benefit, universal credit and any other type of payments they offer to customers in a prompt and efficient manner.

You must have a minimum of 4 GCSE’s (or equivalent) at C grade or higher, this must include Maths and English. Demonstrable experience of delivering a positive and excellent level of customer service and excellent communication skills, is essential, along with the ability to deal with others empathetically and effectively including dealing with difficult situations.

You will also need to keep calm at all times, even when under pressure, with the ability to prioritise, meet tight deadlines and be flexible to meet new deadlines as required.

You will need to commit to a four week training plan to be held at their offices in Chippenham, Wiltshire, which will be on fixed days – Tuesday and Wednesday 9.00 am to 5.00 pm and Thursday 9.00 am to 12.30 pm.  After the initial training you will work from home for which all appropriate equipment will be provided.  You will however need to be based within a 40 mile radius of the Chippenham office.
