Our client is an established North London Housing Association, working across four boroughs - Enfield, Barnet, Haringey and Waltham Forest. Their purpose is to identify local needs, to respond to these needs with local solutions and to provide excellent services. They invest in high quality housing, support and services that are affordable and accessible to those in housing need.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Housing Assistant to join their busy Customer Services team. They aim to offer a comprehensive, value for money, housing management service to customers and as a new Housing Assistant, you will help to achieve this.

You’ll assist in the management of all general needs properties, ensuring that an efficient and effective service is provided at all times. This will involve liaising with customers to resolve tenancy queries and assisting with all aspects of the lettings process. You’ll champion resident involvement and be a point of contact for all resident involvement initiatives, assisting with organising events and transport as required. This varied role will also involve completing general administrative tasks to a high standard.

To be successful in this role, you will need to be a positive and proactive team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. With experience in all aspects of customer care, including dealing with the public face to face and over the telephone, you will be adept at dealing with complaints and conflict resolution.

Educated to GCSE level Grade C (or equivalent – including English and Maths), you will possess a good working knowledge of ICT applications along with excellent keyboard skills. A Housing qualification or experience of working in housing or a similar setting would be desirable.

This role would suit a highly organised individual with good problem solving skills who can thrive in a fast paced environment, meet conflicting deadlines and prioritise work accordingly. Some evening and weekend working may be required therefore a flexible approach is essential.
