This is an exceptional opportunity to make a significant impact on systems and product quality at Palagan’s high performance films manufacturing facility in Dunstable. Palagan is part of Synnovia Plc., a £77m p.a. t/o company which has grown through the acquisition of speciality plastics businesses within niche markets.
Palagan supplies a wide range of industrial and food packaging customers and is already accredited to ISO9001:2015, ISO14001, OHSAS18001, BRC Global Standards and imminently ISO45000.
As Quality & Compliance Manager your challenge will be to take ownership, drive and further develop systems and processes to ensure consistency, sustainability and standardisation to meet, and exceed, customer demands, whilst raising the profile of quality across the business.
Your remit will include:
- Effective management and auditing of the integrated QMS system
- Involvement in developing quality goals and targets
- Being Palagan’s “face of quality” for its customers
- Managing a small team and driving a high performance quality culture through education, training, statistical reporting and CI methodology
- The further development of enhanced audit systems
- Maintaining up to date understanding of Health & Safety, Environmental, BRC/IoP and Quality legislation
The successful candidate will be a Quality professional, ideally with a Degree and/or formal quality qualifications, with experience gained in a progressive, volume manufacturing environment e.g., packaging, food, FMCG, automotive, chemicals. A detailed knowledge of compliance requirements including BRC, ISO9001, ISO14001 and OHSAS 18001 and ideally ISO4500 is required. Strong communication skills and an analytical mind are essential, along with a good command of statistical and continuous improvement tools. People, as well as systems focused, you will have proven experience of developing quality systems to enhance performance.
