Job Purpose
To provide supervisory functions within the Harlow Aseptic Compounding facilities. This requires the day-to-day management of colleagues and workflow in line with schedules, internal procedures and MHRA guidance for aseptic production.
Accountabilities:
  • Assess facility is fit for Aseptic preparation.
  • Ensure all pressure readings are within limits and that all issues are communicated to Head of Production.
  • Prioritise and schedule both new and existing patients in order to meet delivery requirements.
  • Ensure that aseptically compounded products are prepared, stored and dispatched in accordance with in-house and regulatory standards and procedures.
  • Determine regulation of rejection, quarantine and investigation of failed products.
  • Participate in the assessment of product release at each stage of the compounding process.
  • Follow GMP standards and departmental procedures in line with MHRA requirements at all times.
  • Identify and correct failures in GMP according to internal work instructions.
  • Accurately record and assess issues of non-conformity.
  • Apply and adhere to all health & safety practices.
  • Ability to support and drive change.
  • Organise and prioritise workflow, assigning staff accordingly to achieve production targets as required.
  • Ensure all colleagues within compounding unit are supported, and enabled to deliver a high level of service to our patients.
  • Pro-actively coordinate staff absence; Return to work interviews; accurately maintain HORIS system and absence review meetings.
  • Communicate with Shift Manager regularly, escalating areas of concern promptly.
  • Effectively organise/allocate annual leave.
  • Support Shift Managers with both informal and formal employee meetings.
  • Awareness of internal controls.
  • Ability to meet and exceed KPI targets.
Qualifications, Training & Experience:
  • Previous experience of working within a similar environment.
  • Ability to establish positive and professional internal relationships cross departmentally.
  • Able to explain tasks clearly and check understanding.
  • A 'can do' and pro-active approach
  • Ability to apply initiative and assist with resolving queries relating to the compounding unit.
  • Ability to carry out Manual Handling tasks
  • Strong numeracy & literacy skills.
  • Competent IT skills.
  • Organised and punctual.
