PART-TIME Case Progression Officer
Our client is a unique law enforcement organisation which both investigates and prosecutes the most serious economic crimes. They are seeking a PART-TIME Case Progression Officer to join one of their teams being responsible for the management and control of all case papers given, alongside other administrative duties.
The successful candidate will be an efficient and reliable administrator, proactive in supporting their team and capable of managing and prioritising multiple tasks to meet tight deadlines. They will enjoy interacting with people and be proficient in communicating across a range of audiences.
Location: Central London
Pay Rate: GBP13.26 per hour
Type: Part Time,3 days per week
Start Date: ASAP (pending vetting)
Duration: 1 Month
Job Description:
* To be responsible for the management and control of electronic and hard copy case papers throughout the life of the case.
* To prepare documentary evidence, court bundles, formal notices, applications, bills of indictment and others, for service in consultation with the case team.
* To prepare case papers by watermarking, linking and combining statements and exhibits, converting documents and encrypting disks
* When a case goes to trial, to be responsible for pre-trial practical arrangements such as liaising with the Crown Court and Facilities Management over accommodation, ensuring IT and telecoms is set up correctly, arranging couriers to transport documents and assisting counsel and lawyer at court as required
* To liaise with and assist the Witness Care Officer as required
* To arrange case conferences, including booking venues, liaising with attendees, circulating agendas and taking minutes
* To assist with the planning and organising of searches and, once trained, support the operation. Planning includes booking accommodation and travel of search teams and preparing briefing packs, warrants and S2 notices.
* To be responsible for raising Purchase Orders and Goods Receipt Notes in respect of case related expenditure, such as counsel fees, translation and transcription fees, using the internal system.
* To assist the Senior Case Progression Officer ensuring the monthly case accruals and relevant data is captured within the month end deadline.
* To be responsible for regular filing and archiving of documents.
Essential Skills:
* Proven ability of providing high quality administrative support to a team
* A genuine interest in the Criminal Justice System
* Effective use of MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Desirable:
* Experience of working in a casework environment
