Maintenance Technician (Fixed Term Contract)
Salary: Upto GBP33,000 depending upon experience
Location: Shipley, Bradford
Working Hours: Mon-Thu, 7:30am - 4:00pm and Fri 7:30am - 12:30pm
INTRODUCTION
Our client is looking for a Maintenance Technician to join their strong existing team on an initial FTC for 12 months. This role will involve the implementation of equipment improvement activities. Following tight deadlines, you will be scheduled work from the Maintenance Supervisor on a daily / weekly basis, but you will be flexed according to business needs. This is in order for the Company's ability to produce quality products in a safe and timely manner.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Respond appropriately to planned and/or unexpected work situations, which develop in the work environment. Ensure prompt attention and resolution of conditions that impact the business.
* Schedule machine time with Production in order to perform modifications, repairs and planned maintenance to equipment and order necessary materials and parts where required.
* Follow up parts orders and ensure the spare parts arrive and are available to satisfy the planned work.
* Provide technical assistance to ensure shortest possible machine downtime, recording and creating manuals & update drawings to ensure all machines have accurate information databases.
* Attend departmental meetings with team members to discuss projects, issues, team briefings etc.
* Process, review, and expedite work orders, modification and equipment drawings, schematics, check sheets, job instructions, and calibrations records.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
* Knowledge of maintenance policies, procedures, and terms.
* Strong project management with an emphasis to improve safety.
* Good oral communication.
* Ability to undertake a high level of activity under a variety of conditions and constraints.
* Knowledge of appropriate office software applications.
* Good organisational and time management skills.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
* Recognised engineering apprenticeship, together with at least 2 years' experience in a maintenance department of a manufacturing company.
* Minimum ONC or City & Guilds level 3 or equivalent (Technical Certificate, etc.)
* Time served apprenticeship (fabrication skills desirable)
* PLC experience with knowledge of common systems would be desirable but not essential.
* Capable of working unsupervised or within a team
* Conversant with the use of machine tools
* AC, DC & Servo Drive Experience
