Engineering Technician (Electronics and High Speed Digital Equipment)
Our client design and manufacture advanced electronics products and systems. They operate internationally in the communications, defence, security and government services market, and and established as a world-leader in digital signal and video processing on embedded systems.
The company is building upon the commercial success achieved to date, and now needs to appoint an Engineering Technician (Electronics and High Speed Digital Equipment) to meet the increased level of production.
Main tasks:
• Test and repair devices, systems and components by following the defined guidelines and procedures.
• Select, adapt and assemble mechanical, electrical and electronic components to configure and commission products and systems.
• Participation in project teams for support of production activities.
• Level 1 product support.
• Set up, program, optimise and maintain test equipment as well as configure and install programs and software.
• Build test harnesses, prepare documents, and handle stock content and goods in/out.
Minimal requirements:
• A relevant qualification either in electronics, communications or video
• High Speed Digital experience is needed
• Previous experience in soldering to IPC standards
• Previous experience of electronic assembly and testing
• Must be able to read and prepare documentation in English Terms of Employment The job will be based at RFEL's offices in Newport. Salary is subject to experience. A package of additional benefits is available including health care, share options and pension provision.
