Fundraising Officer - Corporate / Community Groups
Worthing, West Sussex (with travel to sites throughout Worthing, Littlehampton, Horsham and East Grinstead)

Are you an enthusiastic Fundraising Officer looking for your next step? Want to help make a positive, lasting difference to people in your community? If so, we’d love to hear from you.

About Us

Established in 1991, Turning Tides is a community-led charity dedicated to ending homelessness. We empower homeless or insecurely housed individuals to achieve sustainable independent living.

We have gone from supporting a handful of people in the coastal town of Worthing to providing a range of services to over 1,700 people in Worthing, Adur, Littlehampton, Horsham and Mid Sussex. We have over 5,000 supporters, 300 volunteers and 100 staff members to date.

We’re now looking for two Fundraising Officers to join us, one on a full time basis to gain support from community groups, and another on a part time basis to gain support from corporate groups.

The Benefits

- Salary of £24,028 (pro rata if part time)
- Pension
- Become a key player in the success of a community-led organisation
- 25 days’ holiday (pro rata if part time) plus Bank Holidays

As a charity, we rely on public support to sustain and develop our services and we have ambitious fundraising targets to enable us to continue supporting some of the most vulnerable people in our society.

You’ll have the chance to play an important role in the organisation and your work will allow us to achieve our targets and help even more people.

So, if you’ve been looking for the opportunity to make a positive, lasting impact to the lives of people in your area, this is the role for you.

The Role

As a Fundraising Officer, you will help to increase awareness of our work and the issues faced by homeless or insecurely housed people in the community.

Depending on your role, you’ll focus on building relationships with corporates and businesses or community groups, such as WIs, churches and friends groups.

You’ll organise events and provide talks to develop our supporter base and increase donations, both monetary and goods, to enable our vital work.

About You

To join us as a Fundraising Officer, you’ll need:

- Experience of managing and/or co-ordinating successful fundraising events, including preparing risk assessments
- Previous experience of building external networks and relationships
- Knowledge of community fundraising
- The ability to work flexible hours when required
- A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle

We’d love to hear from you if you’ve worked as a Fundraising Officer, Fundraising Co-ordinator, Corporate Fundraiser, Community Fundraising Officer, Fundraising Executive or Events Fundraising Executive.

Please note, the community groups role is full time, working 37.5 hours per week. The corporate role is part time, working 30 hours per week.
