Our client is an established recycling company and due to continued business expansion Staffbase have been appointed to recruit for the position of Night-shift Production Supervisor.
The successful applicant will be responsible for overseeing a large team of production operatives and activities at a busy waste recycling plant near Grantham.
The Role:
Reporting to the Production Manager you will be responsible for a team of production operatives and associated activities at busy waste recycling facility. Processing materials such as waste glass, plastics, paper and metals you will ensure all production KPI's are achieved in an effective and compliant manner.
Your duties will include but is not limited to the following;
* Manage and control production personnel, staffing levels and motivate the team
* Ensure downtime is minimised and schedule planned maintenance liaising with the maintenance team as required
* Ensure all personnel work safely and in line with company policy
* Produce and review weekly KPI reports and review with management
* Undertake training and disciplinary activities as and when required
* Assist with staff recruitment activities
Candidates:
You will have a production, manufacturing or waste recycling background and you will have previous supervisor / manager experience. You will be familiar with performance driven production environment and applicants with continuous improvement techniques such as Six Sigma, Kaizen, Kanban, 5S Poka-yoke, 5 Whys will be preferred.
You will have good people management skills and you will display a 'hands-on' approach to leading your team.
IOSH or NEBOSH training will be desirable however full training will be given.
Applicants with mechanical handling equipment licenses such as - Loading Shovel, Forklift / Clamp Truck, 360 Excavator will be a benefit.
Hours of Work:
6pm-6am Nights ( 4 on 4 off)
