Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Type: 1 x permanent, 1 x 12 month fixed term contract
Holiday Entitlement: Calculated on length of service, year 1: 33 days (247.5 hours) inclusive of bank holidays, rising to 30 days (285 hours) plus bank holidays after 5 years.

Role Summary

We are recruiting for two talented House Managers to lead 2 of our 4 bedroom homes within our Children’s Service (3-18 years old) on a permanent basis and 12 month fixed term contract. The roles will be based at our site in Cheadle Hulme near Handforth (SK8 6RQ), and will involve:

• Managing a team of Residential Support Workers ensuring the highest standards of care are delivered at all times, and the role will be supported by a Senior Support Worker
• Team motivation and development, people management
• Working within and quality-assuring the care delivered against Ofsted’s Quality Standards and any additional relevant legislation and any additional relevant legislation
• Liaison with parents and staff across the site
• Rota management
• Knowledge and experience supporting autism advantageous
• Some challenging behaviours may present in this role, so candidates should be comfortable working in this type of environment

About the Hours

The roles operates on a rotating combination shift pattern as below:
• Early shifts between 7.30am – 3.00pm
• Late shifts between 3pm – 10.00pm
• Full flexibility over 7 days is required (every other weekend will be worked)

Requirements

• Extensive knowledge and experience of working with children and young people with learning disabilities and complex needs
• Previous experience in a senior/supervisory role
• Previous experience working within a children /young adults care setting
• Strong experience of supervising and completing appraisals with staff in a care setting
• Experience of implementing Ofsted’s Quality Standards for Children in Care Homes
• Minimum qualification QCF Level 3 (NVQ Level 3) – Residential Childcare/Health and Social Care (Children & Young People)
• Experience of disability, mental health andautism spectrum conditions
• Ability and commitment to supervise and support staff to enable cohesive and effective team working
• Good written and verbal communication skills, ability to write and maintain reports
