Make a difference to survivors of domestic abuse.

We are Hestia, a vibrant charity supporting adults and children in crisis. Our Harrow service is looking for an experienced Senior IDVA to join our welcoming team. West London IDVA services are based in community settings, police stations and social services.You will be responsible for the day to day supervision of the service ensuring that women and children receive the relevant support and that all health and safety matters are fully addressed. You will receive on-going support and guidance from your Manager, regular team meetings and access to clinical supervision with a trained professional. This is a great opportunity to manager a fantastic team as well as wok within a diverse community.

Person specification:

* Knowledge of the support needs and support planning of women and children experiencing domestic violence.

* Safelives IDVA qualified or equivalent

* Knowledge of the Criminal Justice System

* Ability to manage staff as well as provide case working support to clients.

* Experience of working within a multi-agency setting.

* Awareness of risks associated with domestic violence in a working environment.

* Knowledge of legal, statutory, regulatory and good practice requirements applicable to the provision of supported housing.

* Working knowledge of the relevant housing law and welfare benefits that apply to women and children using the service.

* Knowledge of legal remedies available to women experiencing domestic violence.

* Willingness to mentor pool workers, students and trainees as required across the organisation.

* Ability to manage the service (including supervising staff) in the absence of the Team Manager

* Previous experience of using computer based systems to accurately record work and client details

* Highly developed interpersonal, written and oral communication skills and ability to manage complex tasks in clearly defined time frames (including accurate records, reports, case notes and interpersonal communication)

* Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues and ability to address them appropriately.

Salary:GBP28,296 rising to GBP29,088 pro-rata per annum after 1 year
