PCB Design Engineer Loughborough, UK
Up to GBP40k + benefits
This is a very interesting and challenging role that would suit a creative and innovative PCB design engineer that enjoys working in a fast paced product development environment.
As PCB design engineer you will take ownership of projects and deliverer PCB designs to challenging timescales in a competitive commercial environment. Products are driven by market needs and you will be involved with interpreting product requirements and driving PCB design through to manufacture in line with DFM guidelines.
Furthermore, the PCB Design engineer will be required to create and maintain of all part libraries and project PCB data as well as PCB/PCBA documentation.
In addition, as a PCB design engineer you will assist other electronic engineers with best practice of the PCB design and layout tools (e.g. use of Altium.)

The real challenge for the PCB design engineer comes from developing products to competitive timescales whilst meeting rigid regulations (safety, reliability, size, etc.)
Ideal Candidate - PCB Design Engineer
The ideal candidate would be a talented and creative PCB design engineer that has a broad range of skills including analogue and digital electronics design engineering but also an understanding of power electronics / power conversion (integration / design).
Skills / Knowledge required:
* A HND / degree / masters or similar in a relevant subject area (e.g. electrical / electronics engineering, computer science, mechatronics engineering)
* Good PCB Design and layout experience (analogue and digital, multilayer boards for various applications - e.g. high power, automotive, aerospace)
* Use of appropriate CAD tools for PCB design and layout; ideally Altium or similar
* Excellent attention to detail and good documentation skills
* Able to work effectively in a cross functional multi-skilled engineering environment
* Able to support the PCB development and test process where required
More (beneficial): PCB Design Engineer
* An understanding of power electronics, power conversion / DC-DC converters would be great (specification, integration and thermal management)
* An understanding of high reliability or safety critical electronics would be good
* Knowledge of design for EMC and also DFM / DFT
* Any experience of electrical design and layout could be useful
This role is commutable from Derby, Loughborough, Nottingham, Melton Mowbray, Leicester, Burton upon Trent, Tamworth and Hinckley
