Profile
The ideal applicant will have:
* Completion of a recognised Plumbing qualification (City & Guilds/NVQ level 2 or equivalent)
* Gas Safe certification
* Experience of working with planned preventative maintenance systems
* Extensive background plumbing in a similar environment, for example working with a range of repairs and using a variety of materials and the ability to install new plumbing, fixtures and fittings.
* A background working with planned preventative maintenance systems
* Ability to organise own workload and work with minimal supervision
* An excellent understanding/knowledge of job specific and general health and safety legislation
* Awareness of asbestos materials and non-licensed removal works
* All tools and equipment, uniforms and safety clothing/ PPE are provided
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Main Duties
* To provide a planned maintenance service ensuring compliance with statutory testing and inspections including:
* Analysing, service, repairs and maintenance on gas installations and appliances including boilers.
* Cleaning, de-scaling and adjusting temperature controls of showers.
* Repairing and replacing of showers, shower heads, cubicles, trays, baths, sinks etc.
* Replacing fixtures and fittings (taps, sinks, urinals, waste pipes etc.)
* To undertake legionella testing and water monitoring checks in accordance with current legislation and ACOPS
To respond to job requests via the job notification system and radio to deal with emergency situations on systems which include:
* Unblocking toilets and urinals, which may involve taking apart and cleaning, reporting unsolvable problems to specialist contractors
* Replacing fixtures and fittings
Fixing leaks.
Dealing appropriately with emergencies.
* Diagnosing problems and suggesting courses of action
* Removing wall, ceiling or floor panels in order to locate services
