PROCUREMENT QUANTITY SURVEYOR / ESTIMATING OFFICER

Our client who specialise in providing Fire Safety and Passive Fire Protection from project conception through construction to remedial works is seeking to strengthen their team with the addition of a Procurement QS. We are seeking an experienced qualified Quantity Surveyor (RICS / Bachelors Degree), to be responsible for producing accurate, clearly detailed, competitive priced tenders within strict deadlines. The Estimating Officer is responsible for the measurement of all tender drawings and the management of all additional surveying documentation requested in relation to project tenders, Design and Build and other pricing measures as required.

The Procurement QS role will be responsible for the act of acquiring and buying goods, services or works from an external source. You will be able to negotiate the best commercial terms with each supplier and will order all materials as requested by the Contracts Managers throughout the life cycle of each project. You will be responsible for managing and communicating the procurement life cycle to the Project Team. Key Procurement / Estimator / Quantity Surveyor Responsibilities:

 

  • Estimate resources and participants needed for each project
  • Negotiate commercial terms
  • Prepare and submit quotations
  • Prepare best prices to win contracts in bidding situations
  • Cost planning and commercial management for project life cycle
  • Assist with dispute resolution
  • Interim valuations and payment assessment
  • Produce monthly cost analyses for the Managing Director and Accountant
  • Final account processing and submission

 

Personal Specification – Procurement QS:

 

  • Relevant Quantity Surveying qualification
  • Good IT skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Working knowledge of industrial safety systems and associated regulations
  • Financially focused, aware of project costings and budgetary control
  • Strong ability to elicit cooperation
