Job Title: Beverage Assistant.
Sector: Hotel
Location: TQ7
Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time.
Working Hours: Min 35hrs with regular overtime opportunities.
Working Patterns: Varied throughout the week, weekends.
Hourly Rate: GBP8.21
Responsible to: Bars Manager
Job Purpose: To support the Bars Manager to ensure that the Food and Beverage departments runs efficiently, smoothly and exceeds guests' expectations.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
To serve drinks and other bar items during permitted opening hours, to ensure customer satisfaction and correct stock results.
To familiarise yourself with and comply with the provisions of the following legislation which affect staff serving food and liquor.
The licensing acts
Trades descriptions act
Weights and measures
Food hygiene/general regulations
To report any damage/faults to the Bars Manager.
To report any accidents to yourself or any other person, which occurs in the hotel to the Bars Manager or Duty Manager.
To ensure the highest possible standards of customer service exist in all areas of the beverage operation.
To provide efficient day to day running of the Terrace and Bar.
To maintain enough levels of stock in the bar's areas through ordering from the hotel stores.
To maintain standards laid down by the Bars Manager.
To ensure the bar complies with the legal requirements.
To open and set up the Bar and Terrace ready for service, and to stock the Terrace Bar and Wine Dispense.
To clean the Terrace Bar in all areas and to keep it clean.
To take orders in lunch/ dinner service and ensure the sooth and efficient running during service.
To maintain all records, ullage /complimentary/ breakages sheets.
To serve all items and to take cash/cards or charge to room accounts and to keep records on the till.
To serve and balance wines during dinner service.
To clean and close the bar after dinner service / functions.
Occasional Duties:
To maintain cellar stock levels.
To change barrels/post mix.
To change gas cylinders.
To clean beer lines.
To deal with or refer to the Bars Manager or Duty Manager any customer complaints.
Health & Safety
You must ensure that all Health & Safety regulations are adhered to at all times, this includes the fire procedures and COSHH regulations, all of which you will be made aware of. Please ensure that you report any faults or infringements of these procedures or act immediately where appropriate to correct them. You have a duty to carry out work so that you never put yourself or others at risk, creating a safer working environment for everyone
