IT Technician
Outline:
Experienced IT Technician, required for an autonomous role with a local manufacturing system builder offering excellent earning potential. Proven industrial, commercial and external IT support experience is required with a versatile knowledge of commonly used hardware and software products. A professional customer focused attitude is required for this role which will additional training and excellent progression prospects. Working alongside the experienced Software department and 3rd party IT company, you will be tasked with the setup, testing and diagnostics of in-house software and associated hardware. Supporting commissioning of automated company produce during in-house build and at customer premises. Customer support for software related issues and general IT support to wider business.
The Job Role:
Industrial IT
* Industrial hardware build, fault finding and replacement (PC/Laptops/hard drives)
* Installation of new hardware and in-house system software set-up
* Bench testing of in-house software in preparation of going live
* System software commissioning
* System Fault finding and diagnostics
* Remote customer support
* Writing of procedures and plans
Commercial IT
* Industrial hardware build, fault finding and replacement (PC/Laptops/hard drives)
* Installation of new hardware and in-house system software set-up
* Bench testing of in-house software in preparation of going live
* System software commissioning
* System Fault finding and diagnostics
* Remote customer support
* Writing of procedures and plans
External Support
* Offsite support to customers for system set-up and software commissioning, fault finding and diagnostics, as well as software upgrade install and testing
Experience/ Requirements:
* B.Eng/M.Eng computer science, electronics or IT related degree
* HND/HNC would be considered with additional experience
* A working knowledge of IT Operating systems, particularly Windows
* Hands on experience of installing IT hardware and software
* A knowledge of Active Directory, MS Office, PC/Laptop/Printer hardware and basic networking
* Previous experience of MS SQL, and VPN technologies is advantageous
* Knowledge of network protocol TCP/IP, sub-netting and routing is advantageous
* Experience of building PC's from a commercial perspective
* Working knowledge of VB.NET or other modern programming languages
