Exciting opportunity for a Senior Structural Engineer to join a structures design team based in Carlisle!!!

A leading consultancy is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer with design experience on replacement, refurbishment or strengthening of heavy civil structures, including bridges, marine structures and retaining walls. You will also contribute to the management and maintenance of bridges and highway structures and to provide structural design to clients.

You will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of major schemes which would be a fantastic addition to your CV.

Responsibilities:

* Principal, general inspection of highway structures

* Assessment of bridges, marine structures, retaining walls and other structures

* Feasibility studies, designs and reports

* Mentoring and development of junior staff

* Independent management of small to medium-sized projects

* Maintenance planning and management

* Preparing designs in accordance with current design standards taking into account CDM legislation, whole life costing, value and risk management

Requirements:

* You will be degree qualified in a relevant field, and it would be beneficial to have a postgraduate qualification

* Structural design experience to British Standards and Eurocodes of heavy civil structures

* Structural Inspection and asset management

* Knowledge of project management techniques

* Knowledge of Form of Contract and Contract preparation

* Proficient in a wide range of IT skills including Microsoft Office

* Full driving licence

* Experience of bridge asset management

* Experience of highway structure inspections and assessments

* Experience of marine structures design and management

* Good knowledge of DMRB

* Experience of Design and Build schemes

* Be familiar with relevant H&S regulations and promote a culture of awareness within the team

* Ideally, you will be chartered with a relevant institution (i.e. ICE or IStrucE)
