PLC Control Project Engineer - East Midlands - Permanent - System Integrator - GBP30-43k
Samuel Frank Associates require a PLC Control Project Engineer ( Siemens S7 or Allen Bradley ControlLogix 500/5000 ) to join a rapidly expanding client in the East Midlands. The client is a System Integrator with a growth plan in place to service an increasing amount of work from current customers as well as delivering projects for an expanding base of new customers.
The client is prepared to look at varying levels of experience. Applicants with 2-3 years relevant/recent commercial experience will be considered as well as more seasoned Control Engineers with say 5-10 years' experience as a guide. Commercial knowledge/experience could have come from working in the power generation, power distribution, water treatment sector, automotive or infrastructure projects but the client is open to any sector experience.
The role as you'd expect will include full project life cycle duties including site based commissioning which is realistically going to take up circa 15-20% of your time. The vast majority of site work is short term UK work and there could be an opportunity for occasional international site based commissioning.
The client is open to specific vendor experience of PLCs so knowledge of Rockwell and/or Siemens systems (Siemens S7, Allen Bradley ControlLogix 500/5000) would be useful as would experience of Mitsubishi, Schneider or Omron PLC.
The successful applicant will have experience of producing good quality Functional Design Specifications (FDS) and FAT documentation. This opportunity will suit Engineers who have full life cycle experience as there is an expectation for Engineers to be involved in all stages of delivery.
Applicants will ideally be qualified to HNC level or above, or have completed an electrical apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering or similar. The client is also looking for someone who is enthusiastic, has attention to detail and can work alone and/or as part of a team. Good communication skills are essential. You will need to be customer facing as you will be expected to work on client site and deal with customers.
The client is easily commutable from most of the East Midlands including places such as Derby, Leicester, Nottingham, Burton-upon-Trent, Loughborough and Matlock.
You must be eligible to work in the UK. Please submit your CV ASAP for immediate consideration
