This specific post will responsible for ensuring all received spares and repairable items are validated for conformity as soon as possible after receipt and executing effective resolution of delivery, quality and engineering issues.
About the roll:
* Definition of appropriate inspection criteria to support safe, "fit for purpose" product delivery to end user.
* Accurate and timely inspection and recording of all received materiel to defined criteria.
* Raising and issuing accurate Quality Concern reports.
* Liaising with suppliers and internal departments as required to resolve quality issues.
* Co-ordinate the return and / or re-work of non-conforming product directly with suppliers.
* Completion and issue of certificates of conformity for materiel dispatched to customer.
* Completion and maintenance of supplier performance data.
* Report preparation in line with GDUK reporting requirements.
* Assist with the maintenance of PPAP / FAIRs activity.
* Ensure all received goods are processed and re-packed to the defined standards and shipped to meet customer requirements.
* Maintenance of stock and system accuracy through process adherence.
* Timely investigation, resolution and reporting of any stock discrepancies.
* Accurate and timely creation and maintenance of a Plan for Every Part (PFEPs).
* Enforcement of housekeeping standards and Health & Safety requirements.
* Providing service excellence in materiel availability, troubleshooting activities and joint improvement initiatives in respect of Spares delivery.
* Assisting where required with new product introduction (NPI), product super cession, and obsolescence processes.
* Ensure adherence to all GDUK processes and legislation, with emphasis on Trade Compliance.
* Sharing Continuous Improvement (CI) philosophies, best practice and knowledge.
Qualifications / Experience:
Essential:
* Ability to understand and accurately interpret engineering drawings against physical item
* Good working knowledge of continuous improvement principles, particularly root cause analysis and closed loop problem resolution
* Ability to work well and accurately under pressure
* Process driven work ethic
* Clear and effective communication skills
* Warehouse, logistics and distribution operations, including Defence packaging
* Inventory management principles including stock rotation (FIFO) and shelf life management
* Flexible and able to manage changing priorities effectively to deliver and exceed business objectives
* Computer literate with practical experience of MRP / ERP and barcode systems
* Working knowledge of CAD and engineering drawing systems
* Health & Safety and risk assessment practical application
* Forklift truck licence holder (reach / counterbalance)
* Hold or be capable of holding security clearance up to the level of SECRET
