Our Client, a national organisation and one of the lead providers of support services to the education sector, has an exciting opportunity for a Head of Internal HR, based in Milton Keynes (with regular travel to Dorking, Surrey and Highams Park).
The propose of this exciting and dynamic role is to develop and drive a strategic HR agenda in support of the existing operational activities and the ambitious growth ambitions of the organisation. To provide effective leadership, co-ordination and general direction reflecting the organisation’s Mission, Vision and Guiding Principles. The Head of HR will develop and maintain effective employee relations and retention programmes to enable a highly skilled, competent and committed workforce.

You will be offered an attractive salary package of between £50-55,000 per annum plus the following benefits:
25 days holiday, Contributory pension scheme 3%, Life Assurance.

Key Technical & behavioural competencies:
- Broad generalist HR experience with at least 10 years’ experience
- Evidence of solid understanding and application of employment law

Key Accountabilities:
- Develop an HR strategy, initiatives, plans & actions based on solid and sound HR practices in line with the overall organisational strategy
- Support and provide professional advice and cost-effective HR solutions that enables the organisation to achieve its business goals whilst meeting its responsibilities to employees
- Support and challenge line managers in decision-making regarding HR matters.
- Monitor and act proactively on workforce planning requirements in terms of numbers, skills and plans for the recruitment, retention and redeployment of employees to meet business requirements.
- Further develop the organisation’s recruitment and selection service to secure a high performing workforce
- Support managers in the implementation of newly created performance management processes to ensure high performance (inc. appraisal and competence development)
- Monitor and evaluate HR KPIs and provide quality management information upon request
- Provide advice on all employment matters, including issues arising in connection with employment legislation, to ensure the organisation meets legal and social obligations
- Develop a process for identifying and developing talented individuals within the workforce
- Develop, implement and maintain a clear, consistent and strong structure for the management of Compensation & Benefits
- Advise on employee relations issues
- Support change management initiatives
- Lead further development of HR and related policies and procedures to assist the organisation in its development whilst ensuring a strict compliance to UK legislation as a minimum
