To provide and manage an effective and efficient IT infrastructure to the business. The role encompasses software development, maintenance, training and consultation. The role is expected to research and make recommendations and implement future planning and development of resources and systems.
Job Responsibilities:
System maintenance and development
* Plan, organize, control and evaluate IT and electronic data operations in a growing and changing organization
* Work closely with key stakeholders and user groups to identify, plan, test, deploy and evaluate new initiatives in a controlled manner that reduces risk to the business
* Develop the IT infrastructure with consideration to both back-end organisation of data and front-end accessibility for end-users
* Write database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary (metadata)
* Manage and develop a suite of reports that provide timely, accurate and insightful commercial data that provides a basis for sound business decision making
* Liaise closely with 3rd party providers to maintain service levels and manage projects to a successful, on-time conclusion
* Commission and install new applications and customise existing applications in order to make them fit for purpose
System and data security
* Ensure that storage and archiving procedures are functioning correctly
* Develop, manage and test back-up and recovery plans
* Preserve information security and control structures
* Communicate and record report changes, scripts and procedures whilst adhering to detailed versioning control
* Maintain data standards, including adherence to the Data Protection Act
* Control access permissions and privileges and monitoring user access and security
* Communicate regularly with third party providers and staff to ensure database integrity and security
User support
* Educate end-users on good IT housekeeping and practices
* Monitor performance and managing parameters to provide fast responses to front-end users
* Give IT helpdesk support to users
Relevant Skills and Experience
* Excellent communication skills and an ability to present information to a non-technical audience
* Proven track record of administering and developing an SQL Server database
* Experience of developing complex SQL scripts, views and stored procedures
* Experience using PowerPivot, DAX and SQL Server Report Builder
* Project management experience
* The ability to organise workload and to meet to tight deadlines under pressure
* The ability to create and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues and third parties
* Commercial awareness and understanding of business requirements of IT
* An understanding of information legislation, such as GDPR
* Excellent attention to detail
* Good time keeping & flexibility to working hours

Hours of Work
40hr week - Mon-Thurs (8am-5pm), Fri (8.30am-3pm).
Salary based on experience - Perkbox benefits - Countryside office location
