An exciting opportunity based in Gloucestershire for a well-established company who have built themselves an excellent reputation for innovative and high quality products.

They are recruiting for a Continuous Improvement Manager where you will need a wealth of experience using continuous improvement within a high volume manufacturing operation.

As a Continuous Improvement Manager, your role will be to identify, lead and deploy CI initiatives across the plants to deliver quantified bottom line performance improvement. Also to establish and develop a culture of improvement, including coaching and mentoring on how to develop, support and sustain this culture.

Roles and Responsibilities

•To manage and facilitate continuous improvement activities and initiatives across the sites to improve process capability, plant efficiency and reduce waste

•To identify areas for improvement across all units of the business

•To implement effective continuous improvement projects, using 5S, kaizen, value stream mapping and other lean manufacturing methodologies

•To collect, monitor, evaluate and report on relevant data - and subsequent utilisation of data to plan CI projects

•To manage both short and longer term projects, using data analysis to support prioritisation of work and using a balanced scorecard of key metrics

•To lead and mentor the existing workforce to create a continuous improvement ethos, driving cultural change

•To work alongside the production team to drive process improvement and introduce standard operating procedures

•To facilitate CI workshop events, coaching and developing teams and individuals at all levels on-site (including leadership team) to develop a workforce wide Kaizen culture and a group of green and yellow belts

•To engage with senior management teams to build awareness of the potential for continuous improvement

•To cover for the Senior Production Manager when required in running small factory units

Person Specification

•Track record of delivering improvement projects

•Ability to demonstrate practical implementation of the right tools and techniques to drive improvement

•Ability to transform data analysis into defined actions and improvement

•Strong all round communication skills; ability to influence at all levels of an organisation

•Commitment and enthusiasm to drive change

•Excellent organisational skills to plan and manage multiple projects across the business

Essential Experience

•Strong CI experience within a fast moving manufacturing environment including using Lean techniques such as Value Stream Mapping, 5S, and Total Productive Maintenance

•Production or Operational Management manufacturing experience
