A UK leading Commercial Grounds Maintenance company are looking to recruit an experienced line manager to work on a full time permanent basis. Based at the depot in Wakefield applicants will be required to manage the commercial grounds maintenance contracts whilst managing a number of operational teams. Managing all site-based activities you will be responsible for ensuring all contracts are delivered on time, to the required standards and within budget whilst maximising client satisfaction.
The successful candidate will be hands on passing on best practice when training staff and maintaining planned schedule of operations. It is the responsibility of the line manager to agree the programme of works, you will be responsible for monitoring the progress ensuring any changes to this are relayed to the client and the head office team. You will conduct regular site inspections, ensuring any issues raised are dealt with immediately and any training needs identified are discussed with the H&S co-ordinator.
**Duties:**
Team management day to day management of operational staff. Ensuring they have up to date schedule information, are fully equipped and compliant.
Quality conducting onsite inspections, acting on any issues raised and dealing with any identified training needs, ensuring these are discussed with H&S co-ordinator
Client Relations & Liaison - representing the company at client site meetings. Resolving any client-related issues or disputes, passing information onto relevant team at head office.
Quotations visit sites to discuss and price potential works, including annual maintenance and one off works.
Applicants will need to demonstrate the ability to manage staff and contracts effectively in a pressurised environment at times. Decision making, problem solving and communication skills are essential and key to the success of this of this role. Working to tight deadlines you will need excellent time management and planning skills.
**Attributes/Experience/Qualifications:**
PA1 and PA6 licences
Trailer licence
Management experience
Grounds maintenance experience
Landscaping knowledge/experience
Excellent communication skills
Good IT, numeracy and literacy skills
Decision maker
Excellent time keeping skills
Industry knowledge
The hours of work are full time Monday to Friday, however overtime may be required during busy periods
