Our client manages council housing in Sutton. They are revolutionising the way they communicate and engage with their employees, stakeholders and customers across all channels enhancing their reputation as a great service provider and employer of choice.  Working in this key role in their External Services Group means that you play a key role in supporting this transformation to their new operating model.  
 
They aim to bring investment and improvements to homes and communities across the borough. They are responsible for the day-to- day management of housing services to around 6,000 council tenants and 1,500 leaseholders.

They seek a motivated Welfare Support Officer to provide a range of welfare benefit and debt advice for their residents to help them maximise their household income and sustain their tenancies. If you like getting involved problem solving face to face with residents, and signposting to other sources of help and support, then you will find this role rewarding. Ideally, you will have previous experience in a similar role with a proven record of helping sustain tenancies. You will also train and support their patch Housing Managers so they can offer routine advice and recognise cases requiring referral for specialist advice. You will get a buzz out of helping others and deal with each client with respect and integrity, whatever their circumstances. You will be agile, working in the local community at their hubs and liaise closely with benefits agencies, charities and social services to ensure their residents are able to maximise support available to them and navigate opportunities for training and employment.
