We're currently looking to recruit an HR Administrator for a short term opportunity based in Edinburgh. This is a temporary assignment to start as soon as possible, running up to approximately the end of June 2019. Previous HR experience is an advantage however not essential - applicants should have a strong administration background.

Summary of Department:

The HR function works in partnership with the business to deliver an organisation wide approach to the management of people, reflecting that business encompasses a range of business models and approaches but that the organisation's intent is to maximise the contribution and potential of all employees. The function leads the organisation's approach to effective and compliant people management, talent retention and development and employee engagement, operating within the corporate governance and risk frameworks. HR develops and implements people management interventions that result in improved organisational performance, sustainability and profitability through the appropriate resourcing, development and reward of its people.

The HR Support and Advice team provides wide-ranging, cradle to grave HR support to employees and managers on policy advice and guidance, case management, resourcing, HR systems, risk management and employee vetting and manager training on HR processes and procedures.

Summary of Role:

The HR administrator is responsible for supporting the HR Support and Advice team with daily, weekly, monthly and adhoc HR admin tasks as well as completing recruitment related activities. As well as working on other administration duties on the back of any TUPE activity.

* Recruiting managers across all sites

Key Tasks:

1 Responsible for all HR admin activity with a focus on resourcing admin duties including, but not limited to, producing contracts of employment for all new starters and internal movers, where appropriate, and ensuring pre employment checks and Right to Work standards are maintained

2 Supporting HR Support and Advice team on key admin tasks as and when required

3 Processing of flexible working applications

4 Daily monitoring of the HR Support and Advice team mailbox

5 Monitoring and dealing with daily mail into the team

6 Maintenance of the HR Support and Advice recruitment tracker

7 Ensure all new start details and staff changes are accurate and sent to payroll in a timely manner

8 Raising payment for invoices

9 Adhoc phone cover on the :guide help-desk when required

10 Other adhoc administration duties

Skills:

* Administration background

* Strong organisational and communication skills

* Accuracy and attention to detail

* Ability to prioritise and work to deadlines

* Intermediate excel skills

* Ability to follow written instructions

Knowledge:

* Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Email)

Experience:

* Experience of working in a fast paced, time driven environment. Ability to multi task

Qualifications:

* Educated to standard grade (or equivalent level)

This role is to start ASAP, pay rate of GBP8.75 per hour.
