My client specialises in the design and manufacture of high-performance testing and temperature control equipment. The machines are designed, built and tested at their manufacturing site in Ripley. They are currently looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to join their technical team.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
As a member of the Design & Development Division reporting to the Design & Development Manager you will be responsible for all Electrical aspects of a range of testing products. A team player, you will be working alongside Mechanical and Software development engineers in the design and development of new and existing systems. Creating and maintaining system drawings and PLC software you will be an organised person who is able to work both autonomously and as part of a team. Knowledge and experience of instrumentation, data acquisition (DAQ), heating/refrigeration, pneumatic/hydraulic, and control system design would be an advantage.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Design and development of the electrical aspects of new and existing products
* Creating and maintaining the following documentation and software:
* Electrical/Electronic CAD drawings using Promis.e software
* PLC software primarily using B&R automation studio and Schneider SoMachine
* Change Notes
* Bills of Materials
* Project Management Documentation
* Control of documents in an ISO9001 accredited system
* Customer support
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential Requirements
HND in Electrical Engineering
17th Edition Wiring Regs.
Knowledge and experience of the requirements for CE marking and electrical testing for
Machinery
Electrical system design and CAD drawing experience
PLC system design and programming experience
5 years industrial experience including electrical system design
Autonomous
Team player
Desirables
Degree in Electrical Engineering
Knowledge and Experience in the following areas:
* B&R and/or Schneider PLCs and HMIs
* Promis.e electrical CAD
* ISO 9001 quality system
* Pneumatics/Hydraulics
* Instrumentation
* Data Acquisition
* Control Systems
* Heating and Refrigeration
