Are you looking to make a real difference to people’s lives? NSNO provides a unique opportunity to further develop your skills in a fast paced and holistic support service for rough sleepers.

We are looking forReconnection Advisors to join the team where you will have the opportunity to expand your knowledge in housing law and work with a broad and diverse client group.

St Mungo’s No Second Night Out (NSNO) provides a rapid response service, intervening to ensure no one needs to sleep rough, however, the causes and complexities of homelessness cannot be resolved within one night. We are therefore expanding our assessment and staging post service, Reconnection Staging Post, to ensure those at risk of rough sleeping can be directed to services suitable to their immediate, medium and longer term needs.

There is a real mix of work at Reconnection Staging Post – from initial assessments, housing management to intense reconnection planning. As a Reconnection Advisor you will have the opportunity to casework complex clients over a 28 day period. You will take responsibility for their rapid reconnection into appropriate accommodation, provide individual support focusing on health and wellbeing, and work closely with local authorities, other housing providers, landlords and charities to identify and improve, longer-term pathways out of rough sleeping.

Reconnection Staging Post is a ground breaking project and this role will suit those with experience of working with vulnerable people or an understanding of the needs of street homeless people. Excellent communication and negotiating skills and the ability to work in a busy, fast-paced environment are needed. Knowledge of the range of drug and alcohol services and welfare benefits and housing law relevant to single homeless people is also essential.

Additional Information

In return, we offer a range of benefits including a pension scheme, staff discounts scheme and initiatives to help you maintain a healthy work/life balance. We are also committed to providing our staff with a wide range of learning and development opportunities, in support of their personal and professional development.

On 4th & 5th April we will be holding 2 open evenings from 5 pm - 8 pm, providing the opportunity for you to find out more about St Mungo’s, NSNO and our available roles. Please check out our NSNO vacancies on the St Mungo’s careers page where you can find contact details to register your interest in our open evenings.
