A well-known global market leader producing Innovative and scientific technology is looking for a methodical and problem solving NPD Project Engineer to be part of their successful business, in addition to their intuitive and highly dynamic team of multi-skilled engineers and scientists. Working within the Research and Development team, you will have a systematic approach to problem solving through applying basic principles to support and develop consumer products through execution of testing, design, reporting and presentation of results.
Desirable skills include working with consumer electrical products with a good understanding of heat transfer and/or air flow manipulation.
You will possess a passion for product development with a minimum of one to two years' commercial exposure and Degree qualified in ND/HNC/HND qualified or educated in science/engineering with good scientific method, with an inquisitive mind that thrives within a testing and research development environment with attention to detail and results driven.
Key responsibilities include:
Test design & support
* Use of test equipment including thermocouples, infrared cameras, oscilloscopes, digital multimeter, current probes and power supplies
* Creation of technical test reports to a professional standard using statistical analysis
* Product testing throughout product development, utilising an appropriate sample size
* Design and development of product test rigs for lab and manufacture testing (preferable use of LabVIEW and PLC programming)
* Support the Quality Control team in the analysis of field returns
* Product analysis to support market claims
Research & development
* Early stage iterative product development
* Testing of new technologies in heating and air control
Project Management
* Provide regular updates ensuring the deadlines are met
* Take ownership and manage small work packages within projects
