Glossary Analyst (Data Management)

Requirement

Our client, a global leading player within the banking field is looking for a Glossary Analyst (Data Management) based in Edinburgh on a 6 month contract.

Role/Responsibilities

• Maintain and enhance the business glossary which is the banks central source of all business terms, KDEs and ownership information which supports and delivers this to the businesses & functions.
• Deliver quality business solutions, within agreed time scales, where key progress checkpoints are established, monitored and controlled for KDE definitions and ownership
• Key interface between business areas in the identification of ownership and will be expected to build and maintain strong relationships with our stakeholders.
• Support technical and business teams in the delivery of specific projects with regard to business terms, KDEs and ownership
• Provide direct support to the Glossary Team Manager to develop and implement glossary and ownership strategies within scope
• Undertake updates to the Business Glossary including creation and maintenance of all records
• Preparation of papers to support governance processes relating to business terms, Key Data Elements and data ownership
• Ensure all central records relating to KDEs and data ownership are maintained in a consistent format and in line with defined standards
• Support regular QA checks on KDEs and the relationships between them
• Support project resource in creation of definitions for new business terms and amendments to existing definitions
• Identify synonyms and escalate as appropriate
• Build and manage an effective network across a diverse range of businesses and functions and actively engage stakeholders across the Bank
• Support business areas in the identification of ownership for KDEs
• Collate KDE and ownership metrics on a regular basis in order to report these within CDO and senior data forums
• Undertake publication of glossary and lineage material relating to the data knowledgebase in a timely manner
