Alecto Recruitment is proud to be recruiting on behalf of an excellent Multi-disciplined Construction company that specialise in utilities based in Kent and London.
My client who offer utilities' consulting and contracting services to a range of diverse clients ranging from national companies to independent developers, they're are looking for Utility technical Administrator with ideally 3 years' experience within the Utilities industry to come into the company and hit the ground running on support of the projects.
About the role:
This is a key role which plays an essential part in the business. This position is pivotal for the management and delivery of all process driven activities associated with utility projects. Responsible for the effective management of all records and liaison with the relevant statutory bodies for consistent and reliable project delivery. This role is central for both operational and compliance requirements, ensuring records and accreditations are maintained, easily understood and adhered to. We are seeking self-motivated, detailed orientated and forward-thinking individuals to help form the foundation of a great engineering team, ready to take on the challenges within the utilities sector.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities
- To prepare and collate basic energy demand schedules and other supporting project information for issue to the relevant authorities as part of the application process for new utility services or services diversions and disconnections. (Training will be provided on existing energy demand spreadsheet templates)
- Manage and monitor the progress of utility applications and technical enquiries through regular contact with a number of third-party organisations. Identify and develop a good working relationship with key staff within these organisations
- Prepare basic drawings in AutoCAD (Training will be provided to the right candidate) and produce various technical and financial information using Word, Excel and Access. Abstract information from company GIS systems and on-line utility mapping services
- Custodian of Company intranet and maintenance of Company information portal(s)
- Maintain contact registers and progress information on third party consultation, taking responsibility for obtaining supporting project information in line with client delivery programmes
- Support Operational team with procurement of materials/plant, including tracking
- Maintain project and team QA information and project financial information using company systems
- Proactively manage conflicting project priorities and provide project related administrative support to senior staff. This excludes general secretarial duties but may require directing secretarial staff on specific tasks
- Produce technical output reports, drawings, spreadsheets and other supporting information - interpreted from investigative work and enquiries undertaken. Engineering input to be provided by others
- Interface with the Company's accrediting bodies and support the achievement and maintenance of all accreditations, including but not limited to Lloyds utilities, ISOs and Achillies
- Attend, and minute meetings with third party organisations and clients
- General administration duties including creation and formatting of documents
- Provide other technical administration support that is reasonably required to assist in the delivery of projects, programmes of work or other activities of the business. This may include assisting in the production of tender information prior to securing the project
Key competencies:
- Presentable and confident with excellent communication skills at all levels
- Ability to manage own work effectively with a number of conflicting priorities on a day-to-day basis Able to motivate oneself and to work from own initiative
- Good report writing skills and the ability to produce accurate drawings or schematics. Strong numerate skills
- Computer literate - training can be provide on CAD and other related software
- Able to work in a systematic and diligently way under own supervision to achieve and stay focused on short, medium and longer term project delivery goals
- Effective time management
- Able to digest the strategic aims of a project and to work with specific aspects in detail;
- Aptitude to interpret technical information and to accurately relay technical information
The salary is dependent on the experience.
GBP20,000-GBP27,000 p/a + company benefits (Health care, pension etc)
