Purpose of role and key accountabilities:
Responsible for management and delivery of new products into the UK and overseas sites. Other projects may be required and these can include, but are not restricted to:
* New product introduction to Gardner
* Internal business improvement projects
* Specification change / modification projects
* Work transfer projects
Core skills/attributes needed:
* This position requires someone who is a strategic thinker that can influence and implement change in a dynamic environment
* Capable user of Microsoft software including Excel, Powerpoint and Project
* An understanding of computerised MRP systems preferred
* Requires thoroughness, resourcefulness, adaptability to shifting priorities/deadlines and multi-tasking
* Must be a strong team player with excellent interpersonal, communication, planning and organization skills
* Requires excellent analytical skills and the ability to analyse and resolve problems at all levels
* This individual will be required to interact across all disciplines within the organization and must possess the ability to interface effectively with all levels of management
* To quickly identify roadblocks to the project and mechanisms for removing them
* Able to work within temporary project structures
* Ability to present information internally and externally to customers and senior management in an engaging manner
* Be able to manage technically complex programs from concept to completion, achieving the highest levels of customer satisfaction
* Ability to build positive relationships
* Previous NPI experience with excellent project management skills
* Delivery of projects, on time, in budget and to our customers satisfaction
* Ideally you will have a strong understanding of aerospace approval requirements / raw materials / bills of materials
* Full diving licence, as the role will be based in our Derbyshire site and involve coordinating programmes across several sites. Which may include extended travel both within the UK and abroad
* Start-up definition of project, including scope, terms of reference, objectives, deliverables and measures
* Agree project scope with customer and senior management then establish expectations and management process to achieve
* Develop risk management matrix and management process
* Develop plan, team and resource profile
* Establish line management of resource
* Establish budget and monitoring
* Establish measures, reviews, attendees, escalation criteria and structure
* Ensure Gardner project Management systems are used on all projects
The employee must also strive to support the elements of the SQCDP framework of the wider Gardner business;
- Safety: work in line with all accredited company safety standards in order to provide a safe working environment for all
- Quality: support the quality accreditations across the business to ensure the delivery of a 'right first time' performance
- Cost: support the continuous improvements in cost reduction activities across the company in order to deliver increased profitability and value for money to our customers and stakeholders
- Delivery: drive improvement in delivery performance to continually exceed customer expectations and targets
- People: support organisational capability and influence cultural change by embracing diversity, inclusion, wellbeing and community
Measurable performance indicators/objectives of role:
- Delivery on time and to budget
- Achievement of deliverables defined within project
- Use of Gardner project management systems on all company projects
- Sign off of success by Project owner and customer
An annual appraisal will be held to ensure the employee and their Line Manager is happy with their performance, progress and development. Further reviews may also be held to discuss any ongoing training needs of the employee
