Payroll and Pensions Officer - GBP23,000 - GBP26,000 Pro Rata - Part-time - Education Sector
Our client, an Educational Trust, is seeking an experienced individual to join their ever expanding and supportive company and act as the Payroll and Pensions Officer on a part-time basis. The Payroll and Pensions Officer will be a key part of the Trust's team and will contribute to the development of the in house HR and Payroll system.
Due to our client introducing a new HR and Payroll system, it is important for the individual to have up to date payroll, Teachers' Pensions and LGPS knowledge.
Payroll and Pensions Officer Responsibilities:
- Preparing and submitting payroll and pension data to the bureau - ensuring data collated is accurate
- Liaising with the bureau throughout the payroll process and reviewing any draft reports
- Working alongside the Finance Manager in approving payroll
- Liaising with the bureau to ensure the bacs pay file is submitted within the expected time frame
- Supporting the implementation of the new HR and Payroll system
- Fully responsible for the day-to-day operation of the payroll processes
- Maintaining LGPS and TP defined benefit schemes and other legacy pensions funds, including month and year end reporting
- Carrying out third party payment preparation
- Payroll Journal production
- Responsible for maintaining all manual and digital records including SIMS and absence recording systems
- Answering staff enquiries regarding pay and pension
