The Hull and East Riding Health branch of Unison is currently recruiting 2 x part-time Branch Organiser/Caseworker to support members in NHS and outsourced employers in Hull and East Riding. Successful candidates will bring their experience and skills in assisting the branch to recruit members and representatives, develop new activists, organise and drive forward our campaigning work as well as undertaking individual and collective casework.

The successful candidate will be an experienced team player, have good communication and time management skills, including the ability to organise your own workload and effectively manage your priorities. You will undertake a range of organising and casework duties to support our members and activists including often working to tight deadlines and being responsible for updating and maintaining accurate and confidential records.

To undertake this role you must have good interpersonal and IT skills, excellent administrative and organisational skills and a good understanding and knowledge of the trade union movement. Previous experience of union casework and a working knowledge of employment law would be an advantage.

You will need to be able to travel within the geographical location of Hull and East Riding and on occasions elsewhere for meetings/training as required.

The branch is seeking to recruit two part-time workers, each working 2 or 3 days per week (number of days confirmed at the time of appointment).  Each worker will manage casework and recruitment of members within NHS and health-related employers throughout the geographical area, including hospitals, mental health and community employers as well as private providers undertaking NHS services. 

This role would be ideal for someone who is passionate about helping other people, likes variety within their work and has excellent organisation and time management skills.

Successful candidates will be employed in Unison standard terms and conditions of employment, which includes an occupational pension scheme and 32 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata per annum).
