The Opportunity

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a manager or senior manager with share plan and deals experience (especially in the private business and PE backed markets) to join our team in the South West & Wales (based in the Bristol office).

We provide consulting services, technical advice and analysis on all aspects of incentive plan design, implementation, deals advice and reporting. Our clients include private start-ups, fast-growth companies heading towards an IPO/exit, AIM and mid-cap, family-owned and private equity/venture capital backed organisations. The successful candidate will be required to work as part of a regional and multi-disciplined team, advising a broad range of clients on all aspects of their pay.

Our team will provide you with the opportunity to put into practice your tax technical skills in a stimulating and challenging environment. You will also play a key role in the People & Organisations network and you will lead and participate in regular network events with technical updates and training opportunities.

The Role

As a senior manager, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Being self-reliant and confident in dealing with fast moving events and developing strategies to solve complex technical challenges
  • Managing and delivering projects and having an appreciation of risks involved to plan ahead, prioritise and document decisions, involving senior staff as appropriate
  • Using your tax knowledge, ideally from a personal tax perspective so that capital taxes/SATR aspects are considered and appreciated
  • Working collaboratively within and managing a team and contributing to the development of your own and the team's technical, financial and commercial acumen
  • Proactively assist in the management of a portfolio of clients
  • Drafting technically complex advice and supervise the work of junior staff (managing their personal and technical development, undertaking research and analysis)
  • Developing a personal network of contacts internally and externally and actively promote the PwC brand through social media and external networking events
  • Actively targeting and evaluating opportunities for developing new client opportunities and services and supporting client proposal activities
  • You will be responsible for building close relationships with a wide range of clients, working both independently and in a team. You will benefit from a progressive environment and will be encouraged to develop client relationships, technical and people management skills.

The work is technically stimulating, rarely routine and offers opportunities to help solve our clients' tax and business issues of companies. The work is wide-ranging and you will have the opportunity to work with Senior Managers, Directors and Partners.

The Skills and Attributes

The following skills and experience are required for this role:

  • UK professional qualification (CTA, ACA or legal qualification with tax experience) or overseas equivalent
  • Extensive share plan/deals experience
  • Strong organisational and interpersonal skill
