Transport Operations Manager

Your new company
Our client, an FMCG company in Belfast, are recruiting an experienced Transport Operation Manager to join them on a permanent basis.

Your new role

• Work closely with the warehouse and planning department.
• Work closely with HR team to close out all relevant meetings in a timely manner.
• Ensure effective communication throughout the operation
• Ensure performance and development reviews are completed on time.
• Ensure all standard HR processes are implemented for your team e.g. timekeeping, health and safety etc.
• Ensure the transport team have the correct skills, competencies and knowledge to meet the customer's needs.
• Manage the performance and development of your team to identify, develop and reward high performing team members by structured corrective action measurements.
• To achieve individual objectives as specified in annual appraisal
• Assist the management team in controlling staff levels e.g. absenteeism
• Build relationships
• Where performance is below acceptable levels, resolving through the implementation of improvement measures
• Develop and motivate drivers to achieve high working standards and to identify and satisfy staff training requirements.

What you'll need to succeed
Essential:

• International CPC Transport Qualification
• Experienced in use of Paragon Planning system
• Be flexible and respond positively and reliably to internal and external customer requests.
• Good numerical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail to ensure documentation is correct and error free.
• Must have experience of working in a Transport environment and full knowledge of Transport legislation.
• Experienced in performing driver debriefs
• Must be an effective communicator and be able to develop good working relationships at all levels.

• Comfortable working in a pressurised environment and to tight deadlines

• Ability to work to deadlines with a flexible approach.
