Arborist
M&Y Maintenance and Construction is now recruiting an Arborist to work with our Grounds Maintenance team in Oldham.
About the role
The main purpose of this role is to assist with all aspects of tree work including pruning, felling and planting of trees whilst delivering advice to residents, colleagues and clients.
The ideal candidate will possess the following Units:
Level 2 award in chainsaw maintenance and cross-cutting (formally CS30)
Level 2 award in felling and processing trees up to 380mm (formally CS31)
Level 2 award in accessing a tree using a rope and harness (formally CS38.1)
Level 3 award in aerial tree rescue operations (formally CS38.2)
Level 3 award in aerial cutting of trees with a chainsaw using free-fall techniques (formally CS39)
The successful candidate will have the ability to work confidently at heights for long periods of time as well as the ability to use chainsaws, wood chippers and stump grinders and other relevant equipment associated with the job. You will be able to work efficiently and effectively both on your own and in a team whilst working within the Health and Safety at Work guidelines. You will be able to carry out routine machinery maintenance and show willingness to undertake training and development if required.
A basic DBS check and a full UK driving licenses is required for this post.
