We are a well-established furniture and design company with a prestigious office based in Farnham who are seeking a Design Assistant to support our Designers. As the Design Assistant you will be providing maternity cover for approx. 9 months, with a possibility of this being extended). Working Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm, with a salary up to GBP24K, free parking, pension and 20 days' holiday entitlement pro rata (plus bank holidays), you will join a reputable company who will develop you to become a pivotal part of the team.
Assisting the Designers, the responsibilities of the Design Assistant will include:
Dealing with Architectures
Scaling drawings
Managing print outs
Using CAD for design work (training will be given)
Assisting with costing and quotes
Booking appointments for designers
Being aware of projects through to completion
Answering incoming calls
Liaising with external and internal departments
Assisting customers who come in the showroom
Assisting with consultations for interior design projects
Managing the brochure stock
General Administration
The ideal candidate for the Design Assistant role will be educated to Degree level, A-level or equivalent, ideally within a related subject such as interior design, architecture, graphic design or Art. An interest or understanding of interior design, architecture and furnishing will be a distinct advantage. You will have strong PC skills and excellent communication skills, with a can-do attitude. Experience and proficiency with CAD would be desirable.
