We have a fantastic opportunity for a committed and passionate Housekeeping Assistants to join our Independent Living Service team at our Plas Bryn extra care scheme in Cardiff.

Plas Bryn Extra Care is situated in the Fairwater area of Cardiff.

Our extra care model allows frail older people to live independently in their own self-contained apartment, with access to a home care service permanently based on site. Plas Bryn scheme consists of 40 apartments, hairdressing salon, and communal space for social activities, assisted bathing and restaurant facilities.

Our Extra Care Schemes are not residential care. This difference is important to tenants as it means that rent and a high proportion of the service charge is eligible for housing benefit. The rent and service charge include the provision of a midday meal seven days a week.

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic individuals who is looking to advance will build upon their existing knowledge and experience by working alongside experienced Service Managers.

Your duties will include:

•Ensuring all communal rooms and spaces, tenant flats are properly cleaned and maintained throughout the building.

•Developing positive relationship with all tenants, staff and other visitors to the scheme by becoming an integral part of the team.

•Promoting wellbeing and safety within the scheme with all tenants, staff and other visitors

What skills do I need to have?

•You will be a good communicator with excellent customer service skills, understand our tenants’ needs and be able to work on your own initiative and as part of a team and ideally, you will have undertaken a similar role. You will enjoy working in a team and have a positive attitude to supporting your colleagues and the tenants.

Did you know…?

•You will be working 16 hours per week, on a rota basis. This will include working weekend and bank holidays, including Christmas.

•Hours are to meet the needs of the scheme (usually between 9am- 7pm) and some earlier starts may be required.
