As the world's leading chartered professional body for people responsible for safety and health in the workplace - with more than 47,000 members in over 130 countries - we are seeking to recruit an Independent Trustee to join our Board.
You will be joining at a very exciting time for IOSH. We are in the middle of delivering momentous change as we successfully work through implementing our ambitious five-year strategy WORK 2022 - shaping the future of safety and health, underpinned by an organisation-wide transformation programme "Transforming Together".
Millions of people have their lives severely affected because of the work they do, with illness, injury and death all too common. So, if you want to make a difference and be involved in making the world of work globally safer this is a great opportunity to get involved.
You will be working with like-minded, committed and motivated professionals on the Board, as we continue to build a legacy of going beyond just making work safe by preventing accidents and injuries. We strive to create a healthier world of work which provides people with a good quality of life, a sense of wellbeing and positive health benefits.
If you want to make a difference, share our passion for change and excellence and possess the leadership qualities to help us deliver our charitable aim of: A safe and healthy world of work - we want to hear from you!
You will have experience of operating at a senior strategic level with a strong commercial acumen, as well as an understanding of governance and the fundamental duties and responsibilities of a Trustee. Ideally you will also have a background and/or experience in either digital communications or global business development.
To ensure we have a diverse and inclusive Board with different skills and perspectives, we welcome all applications that meet the person specification, particularly from women and black, Asian and minority ethnic candidates as these characteristics are underrepresented on the Board.
