Atalian Servests Cleaning team are recruiting for an Area Cleaning Manager within our Transport divison. You will report into the Regional Operations Manager and manage the cleaning for 3 sites in the London area. We are looking for an Area Cleaning Manager with a background in Transport - Railway cleaning, who is used to managing a portfolio of at least 3 sites with up to 40+ cleaning operatives. The Area Cleaning Manager will effectively manage and lead the cleaning operation, coordinating the cleaning operatives to the satisfaction of the company and client, via direction from the Regional Manager.

Main responsibilities:

-As an Area Manager day to day you will be assisting to staff the units with cleaning operatives and supervisors, oversee budgets
-Effectively, professionally and courteously liaise with the client on a regular basis
-To act as Line Manager to all site employees, incorporating resourcing, training, personal development and HR procedures
-Meet with the onsite clients and make sure the operation runs smoothly including rotas, staffing levels, recruitment and HR issues
-To provide support to the supervisors and employees, ensuring that every site is managed with operational quality and financial effectiveness including cover for sickness, absence and holidays
-Manage day-to-day procedures regarding inspections and quality control
-Conducting audits and ordering equipment and supplies
-Monitor stock levels and distribution, whilst ensuring all site equipment is functional and as required at each site
-You will also be responsible for the input of wages weekly
-On the sites you will manage the general cleaning, this is a hands on role so part of your day may need to be spent cleaning/ training staff
-To liaise with the H & S manager in all matters affecting health and safety
-Promote and ensure safe working practices, implementation and compliance to Health and Safety
-Ensure all necessary site specific risk information, rules and arrangements are imparted to all employees
-Ensure employees are informed in all matters including any changes relating to Health and Safety, Environmental issues and company policy and procedures

The successful candidate will possess the following skills, experience and personal qualities:

-Experience as an Area Cleaning Manager, with previous experience contract cleaning experience, transport - Railway cleaning desirable
-A background of managing 3 sites with 40+ cleaning operatives
-You will have strong financial acumen and a commercial outlook, be used to providing exceptional service and be ready to adapt to customers changing requirements
-You will be used to meeting and ideally exceeding set SLAs and used to managing strict KPIs and audits
-As an area manager you will need exceptional people management skills to be able to lead, motivate and develop your teams
-The role is based on the road around sites, with this in mind you will need to be organised with excellent time management and the ability to prioritize
-Ideally you will have a basic knowledge of employment law with some background in Employee Relations casework
-You will be used to carrying out performance and quality audits, producing regular reports and be up to date with current H & S legislation and completing payroll
-We are looking for a good working knowledge of MS office as this will be used daily as well as experience in documenting audit details directly online
-You will need to have a full UK driving licence- company vehicle and fuel card are provided as part of the package

The role is working Monday to Friday between the hours of 08:00am - 17:30pm, this may also include evening/night working, a flexible work schedule must be adapted, to suit the needs of the business. You will also need a full driving licence as you will be travelling between sites.
